NotifyDock reads your notifications so it can move them. Your notifications and notification history stay on your PC, and the app has no telemetry. There are two exceptions. If you set up a webhook (Pro), matching notification details go straight from your PC to the address you chose. Pro also contacts our license service to activate and check your license, sending your key and a hashed installation ID.
The website, payments and the app are covered separately below: the app, buying Pro and this website.
Who we are
NotifyDock is made by Vivaxo, in the United Kingdom. Vivaxo is the data controller for the information described here. Questions, requests and complaints: [email protected].
The app
What stays on your PC
To route notifications, NotifyDock reads each notification's app name, title and text, and (with Pro) can keep a searchable history of them. All of this is stored only on your PC:
- settings, rules and your license file in
%AppData%\NotifyDock; - notification history (Pro) in a local database in the same folder, which you can clear from the History tab;
- a diagnostic log in
%LocalAppData%\NotifyDock, which never records notification text, license keys, email addresses or installation IDs.
We never receive any of it. The app has no telemetry, analytics, crash reporting or ads.
What the app sends
Free version: nothing. It makes no network connections.
Pro: when you activate, and then at most once a day, the app contacts api.notifydock.me to confirm your license is still valid (for example, that it hasn't been refunded). Each request carries only:
- your license key;
- an installation ID: a SHA-256 hash of the ID Windows assigns to your Windows installation. We never receive the original ID. The hash is the same every time for that installation and is stored with your license, so it is a pseudonymous identifier, not an anonymous one. We use it only to count your PCs against the 3-PC limit.
Webhooks and commands you set up
If you create a webhook or command rule (Pro), the app sends the matching notification's details to the address, or runs the command, that you chose. That data goes straight from your PC to your destination; it never passes through us.
Buying Pro
Payments are handled by Stripe, which sells NotifyDock Pro on our behalf and is responsible for your payment details and tax records. We never see or store your card details. From Stripe we receive and keep:
- your email address, to send your license key and, when you ask, a link to free your PCs;
- Stripe's reference numbers for the checkout and payment, so a refund or chargeback can switch the license off.
For each license our server also keeps the key, its status (active, refunded or disputed), the hashed installation IDs it is activated on, and when each was activated and last checked. We don't send marketing emails and don't sell or share your data.
This website
notifydock.me sets no cookies and uses no analytics, trackers or third-party scripts. Like most websites, it's served through Cloudflare, and our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, browser and time) to keep the site running and secure. The license server also counts requests per IP address to stop people guessing license keys.
Microsoft Store
If you get NotifyDock from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download and its own account data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We receive only anonymous, aggregated statistics from Microsoft.
Who processes data for us
| Service | What for | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Selling Pro, payments, tax | Your payment and billing details, email |
| Resend | Sending license and reset emails | Your email address and the email's content |
| Cloudflare | Delivering the website, downloads and license server | IP address and request details |
The license database and website run on a server operated by Vivaxo. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
Why we're allowed to use it
- To provide the license you bought (performing our contract with you): your email, the license record and installation IDs.
- To keep the service secure and working (our legitimate interests): access logs and per-IP request counts.
How long we keep it
- License records, including your email and installation IDs, for as long as the license exists. If you ask us to delete them, the license stops working on new PCs.
- Links to free your PCs expire after 24 hours and work once.
- Access logs are rotated regularly and kept no longer than needed for security.
- Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires it to.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or take a copy of it. Email [email protected] from the address you bought with, and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
NotifyDock isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
